The Amazon A9 algorithm follows a few basic rules and has two goals: to provide the most relevant results and best deals to customers. 

Please note: A9 algorithm uses only the data from the Amazon database to specify the product’s relevancy and does not take into account the relevant factors of other search engines such as Google.

What does the optimization mean for A9 algorithm?

According to Amazon, “factors such as degree of text match, price, availability, selection, and sales history help determine where your product appears in a customer’s search results.”

Product prices

Prices of your products affect the rating on Amazon searches. According to Amazon, price is a major factor for the organic ranking of your product. Your products should have acceptable prices compared to the items of your competitors.

By the way, sometimes pricing below the market average can give a huge initial boost to your product.

Sales rating and conversion rate

Keep it as simple as possible: The higher the number of your sales, the higher you ranked on Amazon searches. 

To be in top results you should have a good conversion rate (the percentage of visitors to a website who take the desired action).

Amazon takes into account the time your customers spend on your page. Why? It is more likely that the person who spends more time on your page, considering various options of a product will ultimately buy it, despite someone who will be on your page for a few seconds.
