Have you ever been exhausted from being an employee of a company, but willing to be a business owner and run something new, unique, and original?
Then what’s stopping you? Lack of time or…lack of motivation. These things are interconnected. Thus let’s talk about motivation, inspiration, or the trigger of your personal and business goals.
What does motivation mean?
Motivation is something that pushes one forward, makes one struggle with procrastination, and lets one understand: do not give up after another failure.
Let us put the facts straight: there would be no successful businessman in the world without motivation.
Business is tricky stuff. Therefore, you need a vital reason to START working on it.
What motivates you to go into a business?
Financial independence
Becoming a successful person is the most common motivation for running a business. And there is only a material good inspiration behind it: luxurious homes, iPhones, expensive cars, stylish clothes.
But let us get to the bottom of this: it is not always worth being an entrepreneur because of the lack of money. Not at all. There are many other reasons for opening a company or starting a business.
Do what you love and love what you do
After opening your own business, you can work on those projects, and with those clients that are interesting to you. Thus finally you can fully realize your potential and find a worthy target of your experience, knowledge, and skills.
Get rid of a toxic office environment
Another motivation spike is to get rid of a toxic office environment: bad Mondays, disappointing weeks, and even challenging months. Speaking toxic politics issue means speaking about challenges on repeat, lack of clarity on projects, passive-aggressive communication, regular “off-hours” communication.
Lack of seed money. What can I do?
Do not even think about giving up on the idea of your own business just amid the lack of seed money! Dozens of today’s HUGE corporations started almost from scratch: Apple, Johnson & Johnson, Hewlett Packard Gillette, etc.
Nowadays it is way much easy to start your business without proper funding as we have e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Shopify to take full advantage and achieve your goals.
We can run an e-commerce business in only two ways:
1. Manufacture and sell goods
or
2. Sell what has already been manufactured by others
And while for the first spot, you need seed money, more and more sellers are eyeing another goal: dropshipping on Amazon.
So, the method is as follows:
You find a potentially interesting product from another seller, manufacturer, on eBay or elsewhere, and add it to your Amazon listings raising the price;
For example, you find a supplier who offers notebooks for $3, then you decide to list it on Amazon for $5. Thus, after receiving an order on Amazon, you forward it to your supplier, who fulfills this order, while you earn your first $2 on Amazon.
In such a case, the only funding your need is your time – and this is the most powerful investment in your business, as with no proper optimization of your Amazon listing and ads, no single buyer will see your product at all.
Emotional well-being
Well, we’ve got it that starting business only because of having funding is the worst motivation even.
It is much more important to be motivated by having a specific goal: to buy a house, to travel, to make the world better!
And get ready for working hard: there is not a single entrepreneur who has succeeded from the first time and in a few months. You should be ready for failures and starting over, again and again, constantly overcoming obstacles.
But…do not forget to have breaks. Otherwise, emotional burnout is inevitable!
You should be passionate about what you are doing!
