Amazon product photo requirements: Top sellers’ mistakes when uploading images to the listing
Your product images are one of the keys to the faster growth of your online business on Amazon.
Buyers perceive photos of your product as a basis for deciding whether to trust you or not: the more attractive the photo, the more attractive the offer itself!
Now ask yourself. Do your listing images show ALL the benefits of the product you are selling?
Many sellers do not pay enough attention to tips and tricks for creating a proper product image for an Amazon listing.
Amazon product photo requirements
Our team has prepared for you a list of common mistakes that should be avoided when uploading photos of your product:
1. Do not experiment with photo dimensions. Use square photos – rectangular images will look cropped and flawed.
2. Do not add sketches or 3D models of your product. Use real photos only.
3. Do not use self-made photos – unless you are a professional photographer. Delegate the process of product shooting to professionals. This will save you time and money.
4. Do not use photos that do not convey the idea of your product. Think about how to demonstrate all the benefits of your product.
5. Take photos of the product in use – let people know how your product will be useful. Make it easy for the customer to imagine themselves as the owner of the product.
6. Think about the scenario of a photoshoot of your product: be creative, try to think about how exactly to evoke the emotions of customers.
7. Do not use advertising text on images. Do not use words such as “sale”, “delivery” etc – this is a gross violation of Amazon rules.
8. Don’t forget about infographics and important information added to the listing photos (not the main one). People visualize information and perceive it more easily through pictures. Share the pros of your product with graphics.
9. Don’t use stock photos. They are non-functional.
10. Pay attention to the elements and details of your product in the photos. Use macro shots if necessary.
