Amazon seller identity verification: Interview
When creating or re-creating a new seller account, Amazon requires seller identity verification. Our team decided to go through verification with you and show everything in detail!
How do I create an Amazon seller account in 2021?
If you are just preparing to create the Amazon seller account, then our step-by-step guide on how to create Amazon account and launch online business will be your helping hand.
Now our task was to go through one of the last stages of verification of an Amazon seller account – Amazon seller identity verification.
Amazon seller identity verification: Interview
The process of creating an account went as usual. We provided the necessary data: billing information, address, contacts. And only after it, we uploaded the documents. It took us 60 seconds.
The photo above is the process of our registration, and we smoothly moved on to verification phase.
Amazon gives you a choice of three types of identity verification: video call or verification at your location or meet at the local Amazon designated site. We chose video verification option.
Then it became possible to choose the day and time of the call.
Amazon warns that you need to bring the physical originals of the documents you provided to Amazon with you:
- Bank statement
- Passport
The warning also says that an interpreter may join at the online meeting – if you do not speak English very well.
Amazon identity verification interview: Questions
5 minutes before the start, you can join the video waiting room to check the video and sound before the meeting.
During our call, an Amazon employee asked not to record the conversation: we were both in headphones. The employee spoke very quickly and fluently, and was interested only in the data we provided during registration:
- She will ask you to spell your full name.
- After that, she will check the compliance of the data with the data in the passport
- She will ask you to show the passport open to the camera
- Then she will check your bank statement and ask you to show you the document printed
After all the checking, we asked what would happen if we had already registered, but did not pass the registration?” However, she said she cannot answer this question, since she has the right to only check the documentation.
Our statement has not passed as we need it to be with transactions. However, it was only our example for you as our bank statement was originally provided to the embassy.
TO RECEIVE CONFIRMATION: the transaction statement must be translated with notarization.
As soon as such a statement is ready, send Amazon the documents again for verification and select the day and time for the next call for verification. We just gave you an example of how this will all go, and what mistakes should be avoided!
Happy selling to you all!
